Saw this at Publix a few minutes ago. The red font is new to me.. is it a real plate? Can you do that?

In NH, you can not alter plate color, so I'd read Florida's state laws on that kind of thing and see what it says.

Is it painted like that, or is it issued in that color? Here in PA we can get emergency vehicle plates that are identical to the regular ones, but the characters are red instead of blue.

Whether it's real, I have no idea. And of course, it depends on where he drives. Some places don't give a fuck, while others are ready to ticket for no reason.

Maybe..... If he did it himself, it is certainly is not legal. Pretty much every state now offers different images and colors, then the standard plate, for a fee. It can get so out of control that some states, like Indiana, have banned them, and some states, like Oregon, passed a law limiting the number of different designed plates available at any given time. So could I see Florida saying 'You want those letters in red? $65 please'? Yes, I could.

I don't think you can get a v6 Challenger in Hemi Orange. You can't build one in that color. If you can it should be a crime.

Not to mention, quad pipes on a v6? Unless they're fake tips, that would sound pretty weird.

It looked painted to me.. but I didnt get a great look... Fl has a lot of vanity plates but I have NEVER seen a colored one in my 13 years of living here

In NC, we have some/most state issued plates with red lettering. The geniuses at the DMV decided to make everyone get a new red lettered plate in 2007 because they were supposedly easier to read. The police hated them and they decided to go back to blue lettering. Seems like it was more of a money racket for the state than anything.

Also, it is illegal to modify your plate here. I suppose it is in every state in the US.

It's apparently illegal (see dogisbadob's link) but I colored in the letters and numbers on my Florida plate a few years back anyway. The problem is, you keep the plate for several years and only update it annually with a little sticker in the upper right corner, and after a while the Satanic Florida sun makes the big letters and numbers, dark green against a light green background, fade to almost perfect invisibility. So I got a wide Sharpie and darkened them up so you could read them, but then they were black instead of dark green.

My car is as powerful as it can be without sponsorship decals and stripes yo, but the contrasting lower body cladding (gray, on a black car) does add 15 hp :p

This isn't my exact car, but it's the same color scheme (the car in the pic has some sagging springs; mine has brand new springs because I installed quick struts a few months ago)

This isn't my car either but it is the same color and has the same wheels. Mine is hellastock which adds 50whp and it rides on mad sagging suspension.
